The robot’s main functions include delivering food, medicine and water to patients, sterilising and returning containers and other items, and facilitating a video call with the patient to the doctor.
The robot named KARMI BOT has the capacity to carry up to 25 kg. Asimov Robotics, based in Kerala Startup mission’s Maker Village developed the robot. It aims to minimize the use of PPE kits to minimize contact with patients.
The robot’s functionality is to do everything once it has been configured. Other features of the Karmi Body include disinfection with soap solution and UV light. Asimov Robotics plans to incorporate robotics such as automatic charging and touch-free temperature checking.
Vishwashanti Foundation Directors Sri Major Ravi, Sri Vinu Krishnan and Asimov Robotics CEO Jayakrishnan handed over the robot to District Collector S Suhas at a function held this morning.
