Passenger passes will now be issued by Station House Officers.
State police chief Loknath Behra said station house officers would be issued passports from other police stations for permission to travel to other districts.
A printout of the pattern of the pass provided on the police website and Facebook page should be taken and filled out by the Station House Officers. Application can be made by e-mail to the respective police stations. The pass is valid from 7am to 7pm. Travel is strictly prohibited from 7 pm to 7 am the next day except for very urgent medical needs. The state police chief requested that the permit hold a social distance.
District police chiefs have been instructed to ensure that the system is properly implemented.
